FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get a hand painted portrait?

Expected turnaround time is 3 weeks, this can be longer at busier periods, e.g. Christmas. If you have a specific date in mind Nigel will endeavour to produce a portrait for your special occasion.  After an order is placed, he will update you with emailed photographs showing the status of the order.

What options are available for paying for my order?

Nigel accepts payment by cash, cheque and bank transfer, orders will be started on once funds are in his bank account or the cheque has cleared.

What types of files do you accept?

Nigel accepts photographs in a number of popular formats (.jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .tiff). Don’t worry about the file size, the larger the better. A large picture will allow him to better see the details and intricacies needed to create an incredible finished portrait.
If you send us a poor quality photo, it will be difficult for Nigel to produce a high quality portrait for you.

My photograph is not in a digital format. What can I do?

Nigel accepts photos even if they may be damaged or creased in their original format, he will discuss the possibility or using other reference photos. If you wish, you can take a photo of the original and email that to us.

I can’t decide which photograph will make a better portrait. Can you help?

Of course I can! Simply send me the photographs that you are considering, I will look over your submissions, and make any recommendations on which photo would make a better portrait, and why.

Can two (or more) photographs be combined to make one portrait?

Yes, Nigel has previously combined multiple photos to create one beautiful portrait.
